Series - Love And Everything In-between
When Love is not enough
Aye! Ayee!! Ayeeee!!! Officially, happy new year to you! This is my first post this year and I'm excited about it.
Who wouldn't be? It's love we're talking about.
So far, this year has had its challenges for me but because we are faith-based, then we don't stay down. We what? We learn and we move with the lessons. Thank God for being Faithful and not making us look exactly like what we have been through or going through. Because ahh, the story will definitely be a novel.
Entering the year, I am quite sure that no one got on it's train without having something they're interested in, whether it's God, a person or a pool of ideas. There's something that you find passion for, something or someone you're in love with.
Love is synonymous with passion, a drive towards a goal, be it relationship with persons or a series of activities to be carried out.
What is that which you do really care for? What is that idea you really want to achieve? At what height in God do you want to operate in this year?
I remember a time when I registered for a national spelling bee competition. I love words with a good amount of passion. And deep down, I knew I stood the chance of being among the winners. Although I didn't, I learnt that it was not enough for me to love words. I also had to put in some work because the success is at the end of the work, and not just the love.
Oftentimes, or rather disappointingly, our strong emotions can not stand the test of time as they fail us in the face of conflicts and challenges. Therefore, several things are needful when we become passionate and are making the move in the direction of our passion.
All thanks to the Holy spirit for teaching me and enabling me to learn. I tell you, regardless of what point you think you are, if you're ready to learn again, the Father's bossom is spacious enough for you.
Here, I have eight solid steps to having a fulfilling passion or relationship. Winks. I'll give out three in this post and complete them in the next post on the series.
Let's go!!!
- Feel Ready to be Steady!
I can not over emphasize the need to feel ready. Yes, it starts with the feeling. That is the initial feeling you need to start this drive towards success in your passion.
Honestly, I have come to understand that passions die depending on the source it comes from. If the source of what you desire is God then be rest assured that if you follow through with Him, your desire will be fulfilled. If not, it's not too late to draw your inspirations from God. Be faith-based, dear!
To be steady is to have a grounded positioning, a firm one that remains unshaken regardless. I call it an absolute resolve that keeps you going. Your feeling of readiness for steadiness is so important. Get ready. Get ready. Get ready. You'll need it as you move along.
- Understand What is Expected of You!
Dive into the information bank! Dig them out as much as you can. For whatever passion you're aiming at, there's a 'job description', responsibilities you will have to carry out.
See? It's not all love and roses. It's also a lot of work. However, I strongly advise that you "commit your way to the Lord and it will be established."
That relationship you're passionate about, what does your partner want exactly? Talk about it. Ask questions. Communicate. Be responsive. Say what you want. Know where you're headed. Pay attention to the details. Know what you're to do and don't do less. Don't also do beyond. It's really that simple. (Sincerely, this part is a whole topic on its own. I promise a full blog post on this.)
The keyword is 'understanding'. You seek this by sorting out information pertaining to your passion.
- Be Self Aware.
Beyond having your feelings drive you towards a goal, it's needful to know who you are and what kind of person you are. Find that identity - the truth - and hold on to it. Nothing but the truth. It will help you a lot.
I refer to an identity as the initial description or label given to a product by its manufacturer.
Then, where else can you find your identity if not in your maker - God? In Him alone, can you accurately MOVE and LIVE and have your BEING.
There can be times that the tides may cover you. What happens? You are not just wet, but drenched. Without a prior acknowledgement of your person, you might be fooled into believing that you're no different from the water.
But because you're a breathing, living entity who knows they are human and have a separate natural habitat from the sea, you would be subconsciously encouraged to separate yourself from the chaos and find a solution to your drenched state.
That's totally the best illustration I can come up with as I write this piece.
We all have to discover who we are, whose we are and what we are meant to do.
If you don't ponder on anything else this week, ponder on this. 😊
I hope you have been blessed by these words. Happy new year, once again. Here's to a fulfilling year on every side.
Stay faithed.
