Welcome to fellowship!😊🥰
Today, we are looking into a renowned verse of the Bible.
Renowned, because, you'll agree with me that we can all quote this verse in our sleep. We don't need to think about it. We just open our mouth and ...!
Grace. Love. Communion. How significant are these concepts in our walk with God?
Grace. Love. Communion. The introductory verse at the beginning of this post, is one we usually recite at the end of every service/prayer meeting. Beyond the congregational ritual, depth demands that we understand the meaning of the words we are so traditionally used to saying.
We would commit error(s) to think our subject verse is nothing but that - another verse, from the scripture. We would be in the wrong to be ignorant of how this is the summary of our spiritual journey.
The essence of coming to the cross, beaten, worn out, broken, needy, is for us to be transformed by these concepts.
Grace. Love. Communion - these, are the essence of Christianity, the life we live.
Let us take a closer look.
The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
Brotherhood. Salvation brings us into a position of shared inheritance with Christ. This is an offering of the grace we have received through Christ. His death and resurrection is the payment and assurance of the Grace you need.
So when next you say the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with me, know you're speaking from a stand point of a joint heir with Christ.
Who is our father, if we have such a caring brother who can relate so much with us?
The Love of God
Sonship. We are welcomed into a family where love dwells. God adopts us as His and so we can cry "Abba, Father". We can learn of Him because we are His and we bear His name.
This love forms the life we live. The life we not just live, but also come to love.
Because of the love of God, we can now proclaim that we bear the name of our God. We have our inheritance with a father that sees us as sons, a father who sees us as His.
We belong to Him and He, to us. It is safe to say we are one with our father. That leads us to the last concept...
"He that is one with the Lord is one with Him in spirit".
The Communion of the Holy Spirit
Fellowship. Communion welcomes us into fellowship. We are enjoined with the Spirit. We are one with him. We can speak to him, and He to us. He brings us timely information from the realm we can not see and for the realm we can see.
The way we can gain access to our inheritance in God is to be in constant communion with the Holy Spirit.
He is a Person. He wants to be in the know of everything about you. He is omnipresent. Yes. But still tell him. Tell Him how you hit your foot on a stone and how that hurt so much. Tell Him how beautiful you think you look today and what haircut you think you should have next. He'll answer you, I promise. Okay. Scratch that. God promised. And guess what, His words never fall to the ground.
Nothing is more significant than the little details. In the details lie the parts that make up the whole. Share your details with the Holy Spirit. He's waiting.
And The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit will be with you, soul, mind and body. Amen.
Have a blessed week!
